Seriously, its like a bajilion degrees outside (hold your horses geeks i know its not possible) it should not even be called Summer, more like Time to Melt your Face off season... Fry season; extremely crispy.<br />
<br />
Yeah, so that Revlon Bar trip was for nothing because the Junction bar was not operational when I got there but I was informed that the Westgate bar was, however, that was a trip so deliciously far I skipped out, I'm not blaming anyone *cough HEAT* but I decided it was better to post pone it till later, these days if your walking around better to have one location than many to hit up at once.<br />
<br />
So today is a Music Post! YAY!<br />
<br />
And to start off our comeback what better way to start off than with the new Sauti Sol (I say new because they have undergone a complete Metamorphosis) with their song; Love me or Leave me.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/XKOG8BzGAMc?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<br />
What an image change right? Sauti Sol seem to have changed their entire look almost overnight, I really like<br />
<br />
how they seem more mature and sophisticated than before I don't know about you but I really like this song and video except for the part where they appear to be eating raw fish but hey, whatever right?<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
What captured me was the lead lady's hair, and those other naturals in the video I mean what a beautiful naturals dream right? From Range Rover (such funk, soul) to this song I love their mixture of a generic rock- type of sound and a dash of Afro beat so much so that I am actually convinced that I should buy their E.P. If you are interested you can pick it up from by clicking this link >>> <span style="color: magenta;"><a href="http://penya.bandcamp.com/music">Bandcamp</a></span> or from any major supermarket store.<br />
What do you like about the New Sauti Sol, their songs and videos?<br />
<br />
Keep you posted!<br />

</div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
</div>
Sooooo... this is kinda awkward<br />
I think we have been off air for like what, um.. three, five maybe six months and that is horrible, absolutely horrible but, as you know me (Annie) and Chezza had just graduated from high school/ pre-college, argh! whatever, and were preparing to go to university so busy does not even begin to describe the past year.<br />
<br />
But we are back-ish cause Chezza's just started school, HUZZZAH! and i'm pretty sure is super busy. I have like 2 and a half months (hopefully) so i'm the free one!<br />
<br />
Anyway we are still planning some epic stuff to come your way which we won't mention this year but here's a hint, Fashion! mwahahaha! Yeah, that was kind of obvious but, its the best I can do for now. Also you will also realize a change in fashion reporting. Because fashion is such a cool part of our lives it was impossible not to blog about the culture that comes with it in terms of music, art, lifestyle, so the hiatus really served as a reflection on what we need to change, so if you are into art, music, subcultures and the like then Ta Da! you have found a home here :)<br />
<br />
Now to some fashion news,<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.capitalfm.co.ke/lifestyle/files/2013/02/REVLON.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img alt="REVLON" border="0" src="http://www.capitalfm.co.ke/lifestyle/files/2013/02/REVLON.jpg" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The Revlon Bar in Nakumatt, <a href="http://www.capitalfm.co.ke/lifestyle/2013/02/07/nakumatts-cosmetic-division-takes-off-with-revlon-franchise-deal/">Click to read more at Capital news</a></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
REVLON is HERE!!!<br />
<br />
Yup that's right the super uber cool New York makeup brand has recently opened up a Revlon bar in Nairobi in conjunction with Nakumatt who as far as I can tell is planning on turning into a department store, (congrats Nakumatt!) they also are planning on releasing more cosmetic brands this year for their cosmetic department which I am so stoked about. Do I see your lovely lipsticks Cover Girl or your awesome nail polish O.P.I?<br />
<br />
Hands up if you are extremely excited by this development, I haven't seen the bar yet but i'm heading to the Junction today so hopefully i'll will see this marvelous, wondrous, goodness, Om Nom Nom!! Maybe buy something?<br />
Have you seen it yet? If so what do you think of it?<br />
<br />
Keep you Posted!<br />

Solange is officially sublime. One of my coolest friends showed this video to me (thank you Maya, for helping me keep up with music). Her little dances and the styling of this video just do it for me. Plus look at that hair!<br />
<br />
...Yeah, so I haven't been blogging enough these days but that should change in a month <strike>or five</strike>. I promise it's with good reason :)<br />
<br />
Have a lovely weekend!<br />

At first you may be like, um, woah what the Santa Claus but hang in there, its actually quite awesome and the message at the end of the video is so funny.<br />
<br />
I absolutely adore Princess Chelsea, and this duet is so adorable (see what I did there, hardy har!) and this song just gets stuck in your head. Warning Earworm!<br />

I love Alpine when I found them I think I overstayed on Youtube, their sound is so surreal and yum (i'm out of adjectives)<br />

So before I sound weirder here's Aussie band Alpine with the song Villages.<br />

If you are within the international community, you may not know that this is Africa's (unofficial) fashion season; from Nigeria to first timers, Ghana and the obviously well known Mercedes Benz South Africa Fashion Week.<br />
Yes, its a lovely time.<br />
<br />
Though I decided to do things differently, I really love men's fashion I do and I applaud the revolution its going through at the moment (in case you don't know the Revolution sounds something along the lines of, "LIVE A LITTLE!") So as a strong unrelenting supporter of that cause, I've decided to round up my favourite Menswear line from Lagos fashion and design week (Nigeria)<br />
<br />
<img src="http://lagosfashionanddesignweek.com/w/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/IMG_0931.jpg" /><br />
<br />
<i>Kelechi Odu-</i> This line is basically saying relax and I love it, inspired by resort life and Spain (there were *subtle hints of some tassles somewhere) it was one of the more successful Menswear collections of the Lagos season.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
Call me a bit biased seeing that I am a self-proclaimed minimalist but, this line was so airy and alluring featuring, clean lines and neutral tones, a deviation from the popular print and colour pop seen on the runways, it also spoke to my inner bougie (hee hee) due to the luxurious atmosphere it exuded, dare I say Prep Much? On the practicality scale, its hassle free nature is so perfect for our tropical summer (which happily makes victims of heavily clad folk) and makes you sort of wish for your December beach retreat all over again, Classic!<br />
<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://lagosfashionanddesignweek.com/w/lfdw-day-3-kelechi-odu/">Pics from Lagos Fashion and Design Week</a></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Conclusively,<br />
<br />
<ol>
<li>Accessories to a minimum, for simplicity.</li>
<li>Get it Tailored Bond Style, ( Say <u><b>NO</b></u> to sloppy hemlines #fashion problems) </li>
<li>Neutral Colour.</li>
<li>Invest in a pair of tan brown shoes, lets all remember the resounding, together now... LIVE A LITTLE!</li>
<li>Walk like you have wind in your face... Challenge Accepted >:|</li>

All in All it was a great line.<br />

<div>
<i>Picture me ( A models diary) created a storm as it exposed the ugly side to a seemingly glamourous profession.</i></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
During our long break this year I became exhausted with some cinematic commercial material and decided to switch to documentaries that have a long reputation here of being boring and time wasting, blame it on slacking/un-engaging journalism in Kenyan media, whatever you fancy. Of course, the first thing i thought of watching was a fashion documentary in an attempt to learn more of the world that i was blogging about and I stumbled upon material that specifically talked about the modelling world, long story short it was not that pretty.</div>
<div>
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img alt="AvalonDK08 Lily & Lilac Lens Gothic Ensembles for Dress to Kill Fall 2012 " src="http://imagesgonerogue.com/images/deja/2012/10/AvalonDK08.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://fashiongonerogue.com/lily-lilac-lens-gothic-ensembles-for-dress-to-kill-fall-2012/">Fashion Gone Rouge</a></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This was basically the storyline of every documentary - "Great" Models are <b><u>in actuality 13 years old,</u></b> from a poor country without enough know how on their rights in an uncertain world. Words like<b><u> Heroin Chic</u></b> are acceptable because its an image models should live up to. Photographers are <b><u>not universally gentlemen</u></b> despite your age. No one cares about you. You owe "Agencies" a ton of <b><u>debt</u></b> for work you have never been paid for. Not a lot of people like to acknowledge that your <b><u>problems exist</u></b> or that your human. Your work will be taken from you by a girl who has not seen the doors of a high school.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
It is a poignant tale heard over and over again is the point i'm getting at and very few people actually talk about it or want to hear about it and to paraphrase what one girl in one of the documentaries said, you don't have the right or ability to complain because there are millions and millions of people who are going to take your place so every one just bears it. </div>
<div>
It irks me that people think that these girls/boys are stupid and that when they complain they are basically complaining about wearing brand names too much, no one thinks of the physical scrutiny they endure day to day (in Girl Model, the girls reveal that their contract will be terminated if they gain around 2 inches on their waists), the debts they rack up, the feeling of confusion, the uncertainty. I could go on and on but i suggest on just settling on watching the movies, they give a deeper, intimate insight. I guess a natural question is why join this industry in the first place right? I would be the first to say its exciting; a lot would say its fun and there is money in it, sounds like the perfect job, true, especially to an impressionable young individuals. In a world that sells perfection and fantasy, to be invited into it one must feel elated, it does not happen to everyone. Its alluring. This is not to say that the whole industry is a pit of filth but, it is hard to find a reputable firm willing to work with you and not just make money of you.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I look to this as a sort of cautionary tale to a country especially like ours that is beginning to create an fashion industry for itself and the millions of men and women who are willing to be a part of it through modelling, I can only say this, look out for your self and do not be taken advantage of. A lot of the glamour lives in the pages alone as models may remain the most unrepresented group out of the working class without a guild or union to protect them therefore, if you are interested in modelling or know someone who is tell them to be keep an ever vigilant eye.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<b>1. Read and Reread your contract terms with a legal adviser or an adult present</b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b>2. Do research on modelling agencies before you join them to avoid doing work you will never be paid for.</b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b>3. If you are a minor have an guardian/parent with you at the shoots and at meetings, however keep in mind that a lot of fashion conscious countries are beginning to ban models who are 15 and below.</b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b>4. To be honest model houses are not like America's top Model, they are usually small, tiny spaces.</b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b>5. A paycheque varies you will not earn the same as a supermodel and it is never constant.</b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b>6. If you feel that the photographers direction and intentions are suggestive VOICE IT! or SAY NO!</b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b>7. Know who you are shooting for and what's going on, some agencies use your confusion to avoid paying you or sell your pictures to questionable businesses and internet sites.</b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>

<br />
Therefore, I would like to thank Chezza for introducing me to her highness' style, Chezza I hereby owe you a pair of shoes...(Just keep it on your wish list *tee hee*)<br />
<br />
In this short clip through a series of very interesting (read very Anna) fashion lessons, Anna advertises her collabo collection of wonderfully gaudy accessories for H&M and you know what? <i>I LOVE IT!! </i>After watching this I just wanted to run, dance and throw my wardrobe away because its too bland (mild brainwash might be the cause of these spontaneous delusions) and I think a Dello Russo accessory should be a staple... (Insert face that realizes you may need to save here)<br />

I like that name. Try saying that 20 times, 8 times as fast.<br />
While <strike>stalking my friends on facebook</strike> researching on local design blogs I came across <a href="http://www.pambaboma.com/">Pamba Boma</a> which is an interior design blog (how exciting eh?). According to their<span style="font-family: inherit;"> website, '<span style="background-color: white; line-height: 19.200000762939453px;">Pamba Boma' is Swahili for ‘decorate your home’*</span></span><br />

<span style="line-height: 19.200000762939453px;">I think I went through every single post when it loaded. Don't even get me started on how the blog has been lighter of hope for our new house. Why do did we lose hope in the house, ? I shall explain in another post.</span><br />

<span style="line-height: 19.200000762939453px;">Another reason I like Pamba Boma is because of their organised and local directory. As Kenyans we tend to look these pictures and think we'll never find what we see or interior decor is for the super wealthy. My parents do it too, so I <strike>put myself</strike> was placed in charge of our home decor. Seriously, that way of thinking; kill it, with fire. All it requires is determin</span><br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Katungulu Mwendwa- NY fashion Week</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Khanga, Leso and Ankara, these prints are now the identifying factor in the fashion game quite especially on the runways of Kenya; multitudes of designers are coming up with designs which feature in what is becoming a seemingly cliche tactic, stereotypical African prints on an over commercialized western trend eg. a peplum dress.<br />
<br />
Is this the way Kenyans view African/Kenyan fashion? I think it is quite disappointing for anyone to think that that is simply what African Fashion constitutes of, a collection of loud, bold prints on a specific fabric and hey presto! You've got an African design. Consequently, people who have realized the popularity and insatiable demand for an African print (which was looked down upon not too long ago) here in Kenya, are creating what seems like a mass distribution of the product which results in a over saturated and over commercialized fashion market of literally the same item.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
The fact that in Kenya, fashion is being celebrated and the effects of westernization appear to be mildly eroding as more and more Kenyans try to find their African identity through fashion, film and music should be celebrated, don't get me wrong, however, it has to be done with tact. One cannot call themselves a designer or call something African fashion because it is typical of Africa but, <i><b>something is African Fashion because it is exclusive to Africa or from an African perspective, it goes past the surface of prints and digs deep into the culture of Africa for inspiration, from the method traditional African garment preparation to the hundreds of cultures that call Africa home.</b></i><br />
<br />
The boring affinity for stereotypical African fashion creates that sort of thinking that makes up stupid words like "Ethnic Print/Look/Model" with a lookbook shot in an African Jungle because some individuals are too obtuse to think that Africa could be anything other than an "Ethnic print" and "Animals". Western designers and fashion icons are donning African inspired wear but as that's all well and good it only just scratches the surface and that is not enough for me.<br />
<br />
For this reason I would like to honour 2 of my favourite authentic Kenyan designers who have managed to go against the grain and introduce the art of African heritage into their designs; Patricia Mbela of Poisa and her famous grand, delicate beaded embellishments which are skillfully sewn into her designs, that always serves to surprise and Katungulu Mwendwa of Katungulu Mwendwa whose inspirations and work are drawn from the culture of the entire continent creating fashion that is fresh and new. Their work inspires me because of the artistic skill put into their work and the inspirational stories they weave into their designs making them truly African Designers who are passionately creating brands that will stand the test of time.<br />

<br />
Having delayed my older sister leaving the house to go to the fashion market because of a fixation on watching Jimmy Kimmel Experiments on YouTube that involved breaking kids hearts, yeah i'm just that kind of person, I finally got ready and left the house with a pissed off sister, whose friend by the way was waiting on her.<br />
<br />
After a series of unfortunate and hilarious events (including being a blogger whose camera pulled a disappearing stunt and coming to the sad conclusion that I would have to use my very unprofessional phone for pictures) we ended up at Impala with my little sister who was forced to attend it with us when my parents picked us up in the blistering heat waiting on a jav...<br />
I must say from the entrance I was a bit discouraged thinking that we would be 5 people at the event, it was nearly empty despite the numerous cars parked outside, however once inside, I realized that the tents enclosed everyone inside, therefore explaining the apocalyptic feel of the entrance.<br />

<br />
Abandoning my older sister and her friend to their own devices my little sister and I hit stall by stall sampling the best Nairobi High street stores had to offer, by saying high street, i mean this was not a Toi Market situation, you don't bargain and everything's either designed or imported, so next time I would advice carrying a cheque book.<br />

I ran into a couple of friends and stood somewhat dumbfounded at some of the more well known models that were there, i'm talking Susan Anyango and Namnyak. I decided it was better not to go all groupie love and ask for autographs because I already did once with a friend to Namnyak and honestly if I did it again I would just look like a stalker... #here's to keeping a distance!! *awkward laughter*<br />

Overall the event was laid back and calm plus it was bedecked with some seriously stylish people, *sniff sniff* I was summerged in a fashion dream. I saw Chilli Mango once more and was delighted to meet the Designer because i'm such a fan and I finally bought their Afro chic earrings. I was also excited to see I Love... at the market through a bubbly distributor who had insane discounts I couldn't refuse so I got some lippy and soon i'm gonna get their to-die-for shower gel (yes, i'm obsessed) Anyway, it was easy to deduce that Vintage and Afro Chic took the day and I was stoked to acquire a number of cards for shops that i will be visiting soon.<br />

The event was definitely a must attend I was glad that even though I unfairly made my parents wait in the car so I could finish the Kaveke show, i'm sure they would do it all over again (read, I would) lets just say that I have a collection of vintage accessories from this thing so, to the Nairobi Fashion Market... introduce more months please? I wanted to write "we are going for this" in large dominating and fearful capitals but I didn't want to seem like I was shouting at you guys. This event is seeing more and more people jumping on board and I think its good exposure for local designers and boutique owners and for bloggers too, so that we can have more content to blog on and there's gonna be an Arcade!!! I'm such a child. Praying to my lucky stars for BARGAINS.</div>

I heard some comments about how in terms of keeping your belongings private, maybe this (the bag on the right) wouldn't be so safe in populated public areas. To some extent I agree, but shouldn't this be just as safe as holding your wallet and phone in your hand (except they're suspended by your knee)? then again how safe is that anyway?<br />
If I could actually afford the clear bag, I think I would carry it empty. Sure, the whole point of having a bag is to stuff it with stuff, but it looks so bloody good and pure as it is.<br />
<br />
Ps: I loved all the white perforated materials but for some reason, lately, I've been more attracted to the accessories of this season as compared to the actual clothes.<br />

Last week I had a dream about some boots I really REALLY want. They're actually a mans shoe from my parents shop (they own a shoe shop in Karen). They kinda look like the picture below but with a gold buckle around the elastic and they're made of your typical not so patent black leather.<br />

For so long I've been infatuated with heels, that I tend to overlook practicality. Seeing as how I walk almost everywhere that didn't make much sense. Here's a little bit of what runs through my head before "investing" in a pair of shoes.<br />
<br />
Flats/ Low-heel: If you leave without them, you're going to hate yourself later.<br />
<br />
Wedges: Dude they're wedges, sold!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Heels (6inches and beyond): Merde, I NEED those. How much? ...You're not going to be mobile, but you know, who cares? Mobility is soooo 2010. You look sexy! ...Totally worth it!<br />
Now to convince everyone else...<br />
<br />
The more mature I become (my gosh, I'll be 19 in a week!) the more I prefer simple pointed toe flats, leather sandals and manly boots. Alexander Wang's <a href="https://www.google.com/search?q=Alexander+Wang+ines+oxford&um=1&hl=en&tbm=isch&gs_l=img.3...16346.19522.0.19859.10.10.0.0.0.0.268.2219.1j1j8.10.0...0.0...1c.1.7hXl2akb0nY&oq=Alexander+Wang+ines+oxford">Ines Oxfords</a> and <a href="https://www.google.com/search?q=Alexander+Wang+Kori+boots&hl=en&prmd=imvns&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=sLBeUKH2J4mytAay2oC4Aw&ved=0CDUQsAQ&biw=1091&bih=531">Kori boots</a> from a couple seasons back are exactly what I love right now. Ooh, and my favourite heels at this exact moment, <a href="https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&biw=1091&bih=531&um=1&q=valentino%20studded%20kitten%20heels&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=DLheUNnCE8f0sgbG0oDIDg">those</a> Valentino studded kitten heels that were everywhere on the internet.<br />
<br />
How is all this related to the article on Elle? It was about flat shoes and how cool they are again. I don't care much for what's "in" but reading that was a big reassurance that it's okay to wear flat shoes, they're <strike>almost</strike> as cool as those heels you can barely walk in.<br />

I didn't mean t<span style="font-family: inherit;">o abandon you. My mind has been suffocating me. I'm one of those people who freaks out when things don't go according to plan and I'm also one of those people that worries a lot. Well, for the passed two months nothing has being going as planned and the life I envisioned I would have is still just out of reach. That makes me worry. At on</span>e point it was so bad I didn't want to do ANYTHING. I got so filled up with doubt that I became numb.<br />
<div>

Urgh, yuck, I hate to sound so fragile and sad. In real life I like guns, hockey and I just restarted Modern Warfare 3 on the hardened<span style="font-family: inherit;"> level, by the way. I'm no softy.</span></div>

<a name='more'></a><span style="font-family: inherit;">Back to le post. So today I was going through my unread posts on Bloglovin and I wound up reading <a href="http://tinybuddha.com/blog/we-have-the-power-to-choose/">this</a>. You need to read it too to understand the rest of this post. As I was saying, whenever I'm really down, a tiny voice in my head (Crazy? nooooo) always tells me that I'm in control of how I feel. After reading though the page these words stuck with me, "<span style="background-color: white; color: #4d4d4d; line-height: 20px;"><b>I can choose.</b></span><span style="background-color: white; line-height: 20px;"><span style="color: #4d4d4d;">" </span></span></span></div>

<span style="line-height: 20px;">No more disgusting sadness and crippling doubt. It's time to bounce back into the SLF rhythm. Some of these self help tid-bits actually work, they're not just for old people.</span></div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Amen</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
Yes, I had to jump on this bandwagon.<br />
<br />
I know some of you are wondering what this means, well, a few weeks ago a Girls School protested over what they deemed UGLY UNIFORMS; they complained that their skirts were too long. Seriously, they were, I am talking Ankle Length.<br />
<br />
Most of my readers are American so I have to go on and say that I live in Kenya, it was once a Brit colony so a lot of what we do here is Brit, meaning almost everyone has a school uniform. I have been to catholic school, boarding school and finally a British System school and have practically worn uniform my whole life, first it was tartan skirts, sky blue skirts(yikes!) then navy/ black trousers, the latter making us all look like we were caterers.<br />
<br />
I have to applaud these girls because in the end their skirts were shortened but, crap hit the fan when the minister of Education mentioned that girls should wear short skirts... he never said mini just short! Of course there was outrage as most of the education system here is largely controlled by religious clerics and our country is mainly patriarchal but I say, THANK YOU minister! You are revolutionary<br />
<br />
I have never understood why school administrations should make girls look matronly and boring in their wear, if they did not realize, these uniforms are what most girls and guys wear and since its an everyday thing, we should at least be allowed to feel comfortable wearing it shouldn't we? Besides, if someone is comfortable aren't they more happier and more productive in their work? Students are not robots, they are people too and their opinions should be taken into consideration.<br />
<br />
Anyway for those who find their uniforms boring, here are a few pointers taken from the most stylish student of all Blair Waldorf of Gossip Girl.<br />
<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
1. The headband, wear it in black/ white to avoid attention<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAkohEKuadpHgmwudlIYLWpidmhbUZPwSX4aNzsSlOHWlxa8x15a0J6XlTKPJU3gEHijsWmfvjyio6tdYg0DOJuJ_HD-CoHinS5FUSU_eYXLy-DttKRpHVE7o_xG8VmNNiIqDfHaTm5_At/s640/Blair+Waldorf+2.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="480" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
2. A scarf Black, Grey or Navy Blue and Stockings<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6bdrxuf7O-yq-oGbkIPRxBWc77K1OWhVhvlrUk_5RKWyKyojAMNwOskXDj5xUHvP1uVgx7zngQ8xvE_FqCuffYgVt73t95kBGZQgqr3mwuyTzTdj7o-BzeMcnsC48SywHEq42SfrJ0Vw/s1600/1722726_PjPQFuFl_c.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
3. Gloves, they are never in the rule books<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img height="640" src="http://static.tvfanatic.com/files/tonight-is-blair-waldorf-pregnant.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="486" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
4. Flats or flat shoes with a buckle on them; Patent leather is chic or if you're daring, go Brogue and Bedazzled<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://www.givememyremote.com/remote/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/gg1.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
5. A skinny belt over your trousers or skirt<br />
<br />
6. A large black tote bag on occasion<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://data.whicdn.com/images/20936977/516f01bd8c7442d9f160d4efe809978c_large.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
7. If you have to wear your hair back try an up-do with Hair accessories and a few loose strands<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://images2.fanpop.com/images/polls/260000/260702_1246383821551_full.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
8. If it works for you roll up your socks, works with knee length socks and a skirt above the knee<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlzJMcdBycd_GiZykvG0xF9OBSCMzHxLoZ70wcQzV9sddhG-CSt9p8zqTGwF9m4HuCYe2qP_pYXvfTzkrp7QjWahSTvuFH67FmZ_DQiRX-YI3IfM1bsXLTnofl25BaKKyI6v20R6ZkJ2I/s640/BLAIR+WALDORF+INSPIRED.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="448" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Yup, I think i got you the back to school help you need, don't wear the items all at once but choose pairs... Look smart students, its part of the curriculum whether they admit it or not.<br />

</div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;">
The most ironic thing is that July - August holidays are referred to as Summer... BIG JOKE! </div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
I have frozen religiously for the past two months but hey, you cannot control hormonal weather jacked up on global warming but I am out to prepare for summer.<br />
<br />
Just as predicted by the Coca Cola Ads that "when the world is grey, Africa is vibrant', its going to be a FRYING PAN in a matter of months until Mid February and Chezza and I should know just how hot it will be due to the less than comfortable situation we were in when we had to don our all black uniform in school... tough times, tough times...<br />
<br />
On that note, we graduated from school (wooooh!!) so that means we have more time to be children of summer ie. we get to wear no more uniform and use clothes we racked up!!!<br />
<br />
Here is my inspiration for summer, the Prada 2012 Spring /Summer Lookbook. I love how its represented in fantastical mixed media; it feels nostalgic, almost cinematic in character like a summer story... Whimsical!<br />

Couldn't you just die?! Or maybe I am just sensitive to this because I finished watching season 3 of Mad Men, I mean this lookbook has some American sentiment, in a very 60's way. The prints, florals, pastels and silhouettes, classic feminine but, I love how they have been placed side by side with classic cars toughening up the look.. just a bit.<br />
Ps, I am in love the quirky shoes.<br />
My summer inspiration, what's yours?<br />

<br />
Here are the just released pictures from a shoot styled by... THIS BLOG of course and it was surreal so tell a friend dude that we really are just that awesome, no need for applause, really :)<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
The client was jewelry house Zambarau (call 0721954235 to place an order) and they make handmade couture accessories. Zambarau's work is like an unexpected cinematic twist in a movie and a welcome one at that; Nairobi everyday fashion is serious and black especially in the spring when its so cold which at times can be boring but, these items add that explosive twist into your spring wardobe. Spring fashion has really embraced colour and rightly so, I cannot walk anywhere without bright flowers and butterflies decorating the streets, it really is a beautiful season. I am already making orders.<br />
<br />
Working with Maria (Creative Director, Zambarau) made us realize that Zambarau really is statement fashion at its best!<br />

Regardless of what side the scales lean on, she intrigues me. I listen to some of her music though but I don't go out of my way to do it. I saw the pictures from Harper's Bazaar August 2012 today and right now I like her, a lot.<br />
